Episcopal Visit 2020

A collection of pictures from the episcopal visit of Archbishop Thomas E. Gordon on the First Sunday after the Epiphany. Also, visiting was Fr Denny Trousdale, Dean of the Jurisdiction. During the service two were confirmed, two were formally received, and His Excellency gave an episcopal blessing to Fr Jason & Myra in celebration of their twentieth wedding anniversary.

Blessing of the Animals

In celebration of the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi (Oct. 4) we held a Blessing of the Animals service.

The Seventeenth Sunday after Trinity

We were blessed to have Dn Shannon Ramey, from St. Timothy’s Anglican Church in Poquoson, VA, visit and serve alongside Fr Hess during our Holy Communion service.

Mathews Market Days

We were awarded a grant from the Mathews Market Days Committee to go towards our phase one HVAC fundraiser.

No Walls Community Day

A joint effort amongst Mathews County Pastors, Churches, and Community Leaders to pull our resources together to make an impact in our community. Our first effort is to supply backpacks and school supplies to school age students.

Celebration Reception

An after service reception with our parishioners, and friends, to celebrate Fr Jason’s ordination to the priesthood.

Ordination Service @ the 54th General Convention

At the opening night of the 54th General Convention of the Orthodox Anglican Church, our then deacon-in-charge, the Revd Jason Hess was ordained a priest along with two others by Archbishop Gordon.

Consecration Sunday

Archbishop Thomas E. Gordon’s first episcopal visit. He consecrated the building, baptized a congregant, preached the Word, and celebrated Holy Communion.

Connect Youth Mission Project

The youth group from Bellamy United Methodist Church in Gloucester helped spruce up the outside.

Easter Service

Everything is Finally in Place

Dcn Hess and a few volunteers set the worship space up in time for our first service on Easter morning.

Out with the Old, and a Glimpse of the New

The old pews – having been previously removed from the building – have now been dismantled, and hauled off. Their removal was a huge sigh of relief.

Big thanks to all the volunteers! This was a 25 hour trip in which – using two 26′ U-Hauls – we picked up church furnishings that was donated to us by two churches in WV.
